What do you do when the borders suddenly close and you are stranded on a wee island in the middle of the South Pacific with your family? Just over a week ago the lovely Byrne family from Canada suddenly found themselves stranded in Rarotonga until New Zealand re-opens her borders to international travellers. Which means spending an extra 4 weeks possibly before they find out when they can fly back home. The young family have been enjoying time in our Muri Lagoon Villa on Muri beach exploring the lagoon... snorkelling and kayaking... and their young son built an impressive "Shell Shop" in the sand. Whilst practicing social distancing they have enjoyed a Tumutoa Tour with our coconut warrior. The father & son duo have also enjoyed a round of golf, avoiding the radio masts dotting our fun Rarotonga golf course. The Cook Islands are lucky to be COVID-19 free to date and we hope this continues to be the case over the next few months as countires the world over battle to bring the virus under control.
