PAUL’S RAROTONGA HOT SAUCE 

                    
OUR BACKGROUND
Our family Hot sauce business came about in that incredible year of 2020, when we started planting our family land after the sudden downturn in Cook Islands tourism due to the Corona virus. Then our beautiful new Habanero chilli plants just took off, producing spectacular tasty and hot chillis.
These Habanero Chillis became the basis of our new Hot Sauce range, along with 3 other types of local chilis, the Bird’s Eye Chilli, the Jamaican Scotch Bonnet Chili and the super firey Ghost Chili.

OUR FLAVOUR RANGE
Our range has now expanded to 5 different delicious flavours, with fresh local fruits like Mango, Pineapple, Jackfruit and Dragonfruit, and the new favourite COCO-NANA, coconut/banana flavour. Each flavour Hot Sauce is fantastic, with a depth of fruity flavour and perfect as a spicy accompaniment and enhancement with all types of food.
Our Hot Sauces are made in small batches and bottle immediately for maximum freshness and safety. Our Hot Sauces are based on our own “Jamaican inspired” recipe that we have been using for years.

 

 

HEAT LEVEL
The heat level is mild to medium so everyone can enjoy them. We like to say they give “A little bit of heat, and a little bit of sweet” taste sensation. We rate our Hot sauces at 6/10 in the Mango Hot sauce for the easy going to 8/10 in the Coco-Nana Hot sauce. We have a 10/10 Hot Sauce in the pipeline too.
Chilis are rated on the international Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating system with Birds eye chillis rating at 150,000 SHU, Habanero & Scotch Bonnet 580,000 SHU and Ghost Chillis at 1,000,000 SHU.

HEALTHY HOTNESS
They are made 100% from locally home-grown crops. They contain healthy extra ingredients like Ginger, turmeric and local coconut flower Honey. We are supplied by and support our local planters. Our Hot Sauces are very healthy, low carb and free from chemicals and preservatives, yet keep for weeks out of the fridge.

HOW TO ENJOY
Enjoy with chicken, fish, pizza, Chinese, pasta, noodles and vegetarian dishes. Try over fresh fruit, or in tomato juice as a Bloody Mary. Add to curries, in a salad dressing or as a marinade to prepare BBQ meats.
